Plastics Business Expands To Darlington
Thermoplastics manufacturer Thysis Technical Mouldings is to establish a new base at the Yarm Road Industrial Estate in Darlington.
The company has agreed a ten-year lease with asset manager Chancerygate for a 23,481 sq ft warehouse. It has an existing production facility in York, with the additional property providing a base close to a key customer.
The former data centre was acquired by Chancerygate in early 2018 as part of a deal to purchase a number of EE data centres across the UK.
Chancerygate subsequently undertook a comprehensive refurbishment of the building.
Terry Goodwin, managing director at Thysis, said: “Further to Chancerygate carrying out an excellent refurbishment, the location and layout of the property is ideally suited to fulfill our future plans.
David Tyson, asset manager at Chancerygate, added: “We are pleased to be able to meet the requirements Thysis Technical Mouldings had to take an additional unit in the area and to have attracted a new employer to Darlington.”
Jonathan Simpson of Connect Property North East acted on behalf of Chancerygate, while Thysis was represented by Crombie Wilkinson.
