The town centre premises of one of Middlesbrough ’s busiest former cafes has come up for rent.
Goodbody’s on Albert Road closed suddenly last June “due to unforeseen circumstances”, little more than a year after new owners took over the 22-year-old business.
Now the “prime location” restaurant is back on the market and property agents say it’s in the perfect spot for a new occupier to take advantage of the ongoing work to regenerate Albert Road and Middlesbrough Town Hall.
Andrew Wilkinson, director of property agent Connect Property North East, said: “ Albert Road is the next area for regeneration for restaurant and bars – a wet-led [beverage as opposed to food-led businesses] version of Bedford Street.
“It’s a great location, off the back of Bistro Pierre and what’s happening on the corner of Corporation Road and Albert Road and the investment that has gone on there.
“This is a restaurant ready for somebody to come in and trade it with minimal shop fitting, it’s ready to go.”
