New Dentist comes to Billingham Town Centre

A new NHS dental service has been added to the town centre line up in Billingham by occupying the former 3,521 Sq Ft Yorkshire Bank. Andrew Wilkinson, Director at Connect Property North-East (CPNE) commented that “ In spite of the well documented online pressures, the loyal customer base in Billingham clearly demonstrates need and a growing service-led offer has and should continue to support the existing retailers and help attract other new occupiers.”

St. Modwen has signed a deal with Billingham Dental to launch its leading dental practice in Billingham Town Centre.

The dental practice, which offers a full range of NHS treatments, as well as private services including cosmetic dentistry and facial aesthetics, has taken a 10-year lease in the town centre and occupies the 3,751 sq ft former Yorkshire Bank unit adjacent to Argos. It is expected the new surgery will create 12 new jobs.

Neal McCormick, Principal Dentist at Billingham Dental, said: “We are absolutely delighted to offer high-quality dental care, including NHS dental services, to the people of Billingham. We have worked hard on building a modern, state-of-the-art dental clinic that provides friendly dental care and is available to the whole community. It’s great to be fully open and we would invite any patients wishing to register their details to pop in or give us a call. We look forward to caring for your dental needs for years to come.”

The letting to Billingham Dental follows new lease renewals with existing tenants Max Spielman and Rowlands Pharmacy, both of which have signed further five-year lease terms, reaffirming their commitment to the town.

Paul Brustad, Senior Asset Manager at St. Modwen, said: “It’s fantastic to welcome Billingham Dental to the town centre and to see it commit for the long term. Neal, Craig and their team will provide a first-rate service to the local community and we’re delighted to have them join the exciting line-up of retailers and outlets that have already made Billingham Town Centre their home.

“With national retailers Max Spielman and Rowlands Pharmacy also committing to the town for the longer-term, Billingham continues to thrive as a leading destination for shopping and services in the North East.”

Andrew Wilkinson, Director at Connect Property North-East (CPNE), added: “The new NHS dental service is a great addition to the town centre and sits well alongside the dental services already established. Billingham Town Centre is arguably evolving and meeting the demands of the changing retail environment quicker than other centres. In spite of the well documented online pressures, the loyal customer base in Billingham clearly demonstrates need and a growing service-led offer has and should continue to support the existing retailers and help attract new occupiers.”

CPNE and Colliers CRE are joint letting agents for St. Modwen.
